The conference Fostering Caring Masculinities took place at the University of Girona, in the northern part of Spain, from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 October 2006. This report documents the speeches and outcome of the workshops of the conference.

At the conference in Girona the national and comparative results of the project were presented. On Friday the 20 October key note speaker Victor Seidler, (Goldsmiths College), gave speech on masculinity and work/life balance. On Saturday 21 we focused mainly on the findings of the project. Each of the five partners of the project presented highlights from their national work place studies. And Mari Teigen (Institute for Social Research) presented the European dimension. On Sunday 22 October Bente Marianne Olsen, researcher at the Danish National Institute of Social Research, gave a speech on "Men, parental leave and workplace culture". In her speech she told the conference of her own studies on Danish companies and male employees use of parental leave.

Around 70 people participated at the conference. The participants came from all the five partner countries, plus Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden and United Kingdom. There were representatives of all the target groups of the project present at the conference.
